Smoked Hummus
2 – 14oz cans garbanzo beans, drained (reserve the liquid)
4 tablespoons tahini (sesame seed paste – found in foreign foods section)
4 tablespoons “Smoked” olive oil (I prefer SONOMA smoked olive oil flavor)
4 cloves garlic, peeled & diced
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 teaspoon sea salt or table salt
1/8 teaspoon red pepper flakes
½ teaspoon black pepper
In a blender, mix all ingredients one at a time. If consistency is too thick, add a small amount of reserved bean liquid. You may adjust the other ingredients to taste. Place in bowl & garnish with a dash of paprika. Serve with crackers or crusty bread. Be creative and ENJOY! This will be a great addition to your holiday entertaining. Char
